Abstract

This study aims to increase the interest and physics learning outcomes of students of class X Teknika 1 SMK Pelayaran Wira Samudera by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with Mind Mapping media aid on motion material. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four activities namely action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research instrument used in the form of observation sheet of students activity and test result of learning by giving question. Data analysis used is quantitative analysis for student learning outcomes and qualitative for observation of student learning interest. Based on the research process that has been implemented in the first cycle has not achieved the expected results with the average value of student learning outcomes 69.64 and interest in learning siswapun still very less because students have not been able to interact with other groups and still lack confidence in asking or giving his opinion. Obstacles experienced are students feel bored if the learning is done in groups without any media used, and students are still busy themselves with the group. The solution of the teacher should provide the media in accordance with the classroom conditions, where all students play an active role in learning activities. In the second cycle of learning process has increased from the previous cycle by obtaining student learning outcomes enough to reach a predetermined KKM that is ≥75, and the average value of students in this second cycle reached 76.41 and student interest in learning has been seen. Students are very enthusiastic and active in learning activities and students have started to interact with other groups and provide opinions and questions.
