Abstract
This study aims to develop the teaching materials of physics (electromagnetic concept) related to the field of biology. Besides, this research is also to improve students mastery of electromagnetic concept. In this research development, the documentation study of Physics Book was conducted. Research respondents are students of semester 2 (two) academic year 2017/2018 biology education program at a university as many as 21 people. Concept mastery data using One-group pretest-posttest design. Based on the analysis and development of physics teaching materials (bioelectromagnetic), obtained the development results include the benefits and dangers of electromagnetic radiation. In addition to the benefits of electromagnetic waves on radio, television and mobile transmitters, electromagnetic radiation has a negative effect on health, chromosomal damage, concentration and memory loss, DNA damage, growth inhibition, weight loss, increased cardiovascular risk, decreased cholesterol and triglyceride levels HDL levels are increasing. Concerning the mastery of concepts, the results show that the use of physics teaching materials (bioelectromagnetic) can improve the mastery of electromagnetic concept of biology students with N-gain = 0.68 (medium).
